Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Timing Marks, briggs stratton, cam gear
QuestionHi John,
I'm rebuilding a Briggs & Stratton 10A902. I can't find any timing marks on the cam gear or the crankshaft gear. How can I get this back together properly? Here's the info:
Briggs & Stratton
Mod. #: 10A902
Type: 0426 A1
Code: 97020555
Thanks!
Answer Hello Joe:
Is this the Plastic Cam Gear? If it is then the Outer Ring of the Gear will have a Recess (like a U)that is the Timing Mark. The Crankshaft Gear should have a Dimple or a Long Mark on the Tooth that Lines up with the U Recess on the Cam. Check both Sides of the Crankshaft Gear. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I Enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.
Good Luck
Respectfully
John
