Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower will not start, internal passages, hp kohler

I have a Craftsmen 15 hp Kohler engine riding lawn mower.  It was running fine until I ran it out of gas.  I put new gas in it but it will not start up.  I put some gas in the carb. directly and it will start up but only for a couple of seconds.  Not sure what to do.

 Hello Michael:

 1- Remove the Gas Line at the Carburator and Bleed the Air from the Line. Reattach the Gas Line to the Carburator and Use a Wide Scraper to Manually Choke the Carburator. 2- If this Does Not Work, then Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. It Has Picked Up Trash/Water into the Internal Passages of the Carburator. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
