Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman rider mower deck repair, lawn mower repair, deck repair

We bought a new 42" deck shell for an old rider model#917271031  We found a broken belt brake arm and bought two replacements but now we have no idea how to mount the springs (circular with two arms with hooks) Sears drawing and service center were no help.  We desperately need your help!  Thanks

 I have Looked at the Parts Breakdown on the Sears Site and after Looking at the Assembly I dont see how I can Explain it Better than the Picture. The Assembly is Shown at the Bottom of the Screen Assembled on the ATop of the Idler. I have Not worked on this Style Deck as of yet. Sorry I couldnt be of More Assistance. Ask One of the Others in the Lawn Mower Repair Section, Please. Thanks.
