Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 220707 carb linkage, hook up, poor job

Do you know where I can get a GOOD diagram of how the carb rods, springs etc hook up ?  I got an old Craftsman rider mower and cannot get it to run for more than a few seconds. I believe there may be a choke missing or something is hooked up wrong.  Thanks

I have never seen a GOOD diagram for connecting linkages.  You can try the IPL, Illustrated Part List, on the Briggs website.  This is a picture of the parts breakdown.

Even the Briggs manuals do a poor job of picture diagrams.  After many years of experience you just get a feel for how they should be connected.
