Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): MTD yard man twin 17hp, safety switches, yard man

Question
the lawn mower was running good then i stop for a minute
to pick up some trash and know it will not start
it does not turn over I was thinking it was a  safty swicth?

 Hello Jay:

 Check All the Safety Switches and Check the Battery for Good Charge. Connect a Jumper from the Positive Post of the Battery and FIRMLY Touch the Battery Post of the Starter. The Starter May be Heating Up and Shorting. For Better Assistance, Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower and Off of the Engine, Please. Hope this Helps. Let em know what Happens, Please.
