Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Riding Mower driving slow, hydrostatic transaxle, speed transaxle
QuestionThe model is 917.272672 6 speed transaxle. I think its a Hydromatic Transaxle. I have to shift manually while using the clutch/brake.

Hello,
I have a Craftsman LT1000 17.5 HP riding mover 6 speed, and it seems that it has started to drive/move slower and slower than I remember. I am not sure what could be wrong. The mower is only 3 years old. Could this be a belt issue.
Any help would be greatly apperciated...

Hello Jim:
It could be a Belt Problem. Send me the Model Number of the Mower, Please and I can Better Assist you. Is this a Hydrostatic or Hydromatic Transaxle? Thanks.

Answer Hello Jim:
I found the Diagram and From what it shows, it is the Belt Stretched. If you have to Use the Clutch /Brake to Shift Gears, then you Mower Doesnt have a Hydromatic or Hydrostatic Transaxle. I Suggest you Drop the Deck and Check All the Linkage for the Clutch System and Ensure that All the Linkage is Working Properly. If the Linkage is Working Properly, then Replace the Belt. The Diagram for you Mower can be found at http://www3.sears.com/. Follow the Direction to the Diagram for your Mower. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
Good Luck
