Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): jumped the starter, soleniod, safety switch

craftsman 24hp garden tractor 917.273.220  thanks for your assistance.  i jumped the starter as directed and the mower started. however, by doing so, WHAT is the problem?  is it the starter, the solenoid...?

 Hello Wendell:

 I wanted to make sure the Starter was Good. I usually get all the Questions that are asked pertaining to the Qriginal Problem. I didnt this time. 1- Check the Seat Safety Switch. 2- Check the Clutch Safety Switch. If these are ok, then do the following. 3- Check the Ignition Switch. 4- Check the Soleniod. If these are good, the the problem is in the wiring.  Hope this Helps.
