Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda blade brake clutch, special tools, pulley
QuestionI have a Honda HRB215K2SXA (5 HP self propelled mower with blade brake clutch). The blade brake clutch is slipping. I've taken it apart and it appears the clutch material in the pulley has worn to the point that the cone shaped pressure plate rides metal to metal instead of on the clutch material. Is it possible to glue on new clutch material? If not, how do I get the pulley off to replace it? Do I have to remove the engine? Do I need any special tools to get it off the shaft?
Answer Hello Brian
1. I going to be honest with you. This is one for the Repair Shop. It does take Special Tools.
2. You will have to buy the brake. Not being able to see how bad the metal to metal damage is I would take the equipment as is.
Good Luck
