Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet carburetor, engine model type, warranty problems
QuestionI have a brand new cub cadet 1000 riding mower. The carb is letting gas out slowly which will cause it to shut off. I have repeatedly cleaned it out, replaced gas, etc. There seems to be something - debris - keeping the float from staying up when there is gas in the bowl. It also runs out of the air filter. Do i need a new carb and how is debris getting into the line?
AnswerIf it is brand new you may have a defective carb. Most warranty problems show up within a few hours of operation.
You may want to check the float and float height. Depending on your engine brand, the carburetor may have a replacable inlet needle and/or seat.
What brand of engine do you have? What is the engine model, type and serial/code nubmer?
Let me know.
