Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 3.8 Tecumseh push mower, inlet valve, floods
QuestionThe above mower set for four years and carberetor floods. I soaked in carb cleaner and replaced the inlet valve and seat and it still floods just like before. If I raise the carb side of mower about 6 inches it will stop flooding and start but only run about 2 seconds then shuts off. Any ideas. Thanks.
AnswerDid you install the inlet needle seat with the groove facing down?
Is the float bad? We frequently find holes in floats. Usually you can hear fluid inside the float but sometimes the float is full and you can hear fluid sloshing inside.
Let me know what you find.
