Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sear 358.795550 - shaft ok - end wont spin, flex shaft, simplier

We took it apart and "seems" like the problem is in the gearbox - is that common or am i missing something simplier? when you spin the big nut on the end and look into where the flex shaft goes in - it doesnt look to be turning. Thanks

Is the engine seized?  The trimmer is a direct drive model so there is no clutch.  Sometimes something comes loose and prevents the engine from turning.  You will have to dis-assemble the engine components to check if anything is binding.
