Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): rally mower wheel removal, sledge hammer, rear tires

I have a rallyplus 42hydro that I'm trying to put new rear tires on, but haven't figured out how to remove the rear wheel. Looks like I need a wheel puller, but wanted to make sure before I buy one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. GREAT web-site.

Hi Gary,

Sorry for my delay.

The wheel should come off after the nut or retaining ring is removed.  There may be some rust holding it.  Use a wooden block and a sledge hammer on the axle, while supporting the wheel.
