Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Weedeater Featherlite, spark plug wire, cycle oil

I neglected to drain the gas from the weedeater last fall.  I have mixed fresh gas with 2 cycle oil, but before I fill the weedeater I would like to change the spark plug.  

How do I remove the old spark plug?

[It looks like it is Model # 711768. It was purchased in July 2001, and spark plug has never been changed].

Hi Marcia,

Remove the spark plug wire.  Grab it by the boot end only and not the wire.  Use a socket wrench to remove the old plug, turning counter clockwise.  Install the new one and tighten well but not overtight.
