Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears Lawn Tractor, external linkage, hp tractor

HI,
While driving my lawn tractor into the garage, the stick shift to its transmission came into contact with a piece of wood. Now, I am unable to engage the  clutch after putting the tractor into gear.Any ideas on what the problem could be? It is a 2000 Sears 20 HP tractor, model 917.270930.

Sorry for my delay.  (Due to the holiday.)

I don't know what might have happened to your mower.  Maybe some damage to the shifter yokes in the transmission.  Check the external linkage for damage or bending.  If okay there, you will need to open the transmission cover and take a
look.
