Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): McCulloch Weed Eater Stalling, weed eater, mccullock
QuestionMy McCullock 2816 trimmer starts fine on full choke. Then when I try to turn it to 1/2 or no chock it revs up and then stalls out. I've replaced the spark plug with no luck. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Kennedy
AnswerHi Jim,
It sounds like a lack of fuel flow to the engine. Most likely this is due to a gummed or old carb. First, check the intank filter for clogging, then remove, disasemble and clean the carb, probing all the small openings. Add a carb rebuild kit (with a new diaphram) if you need to.
Let me know how you make out.
