Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 7.0 Mulching Mover, tall grass, crankshaft
QuestionI read your response to Matt, who hit the hammock post with his 7.0 craftsman mower. I experienced the same thing however, nothing specific was hit before this occurred (the engine died while mowing the grass no tramatic injury). I've been told that the crankshaft is bent. I was wondering if this is a common occurence with the 7.0 Craftsman mower or just a freak coincidence.
AnswerHi Bart,
It is not common for the crankshaft to bend or twist by contact with tall grass. Although it is possible, I would think that maybe a more solid object was involved. If not a pipe, then maybe a dirt clump or a buried rock.
Good luck,
Michael
