Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 9 year old pours water on lawn mower, float bowl, busy holiday
QuestionI have a brand new Snapper Intek 7.0 ph self propelled lawm mower that my 9 year old son accidentally spilled water on (maybe a quart) that he was waterting flowers with! It seems that he got it right into the engine and now the mower won't start. Can I expect it to start when it dries out? Thank you!!!
AnswerHi Carol,
Sorry for my delay. It was a busy holiday here.
Check the air filter and dry it out or replace it. If it still won't start, water may have gotten into the fuel tank. It should then be drained and refilled. Finally the carb float bowl may need to be drained also. Water probably didn't get into any other areas, so you should be okay.
I am swamped with questions and can't give follow up answers until next week. Sorry.
Good Luck,
Michael
