Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Eager-1, craftsman eager 1, air hammer chisel
QuestionI have a Craftsman Eager-1 6.75 HP self-propelled (rear wheel drive) lawn mower. I would like to remove the engine but am stymied initially by the removal of the part at the end of the shaft to which the blade mounts, and then immediately behind that by the pulley that drives the belt that turns the wheels. Can you tell me how these would be removed ? Thanx much!
AnswerHi John,
Sorry for my delay. The holiday was busy here.
The blade mount should remove after it's bolt is removed. Rust between it and the crankshaft may be a problem. You could soak it with penetrating fluid, use a blunt tipped air hammer/chisel on it or heat from a torch.
Good Luck,
Michael
I am swamped with questions and won't be able to take follow up questions until next week. Sorry.
