Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs must pour gas down carb, tiller, briggs

HI ,I have a tiller with briggs motor. Its a older unit, late sixtys I think. My problem is the unit will run only if I pour fuel down carb. I have cleaned carb and installed new kit but problem remains. Thanks, Tom

Hi Tommy,

Sorry for the delay.  Your question got misplaced.

If the compression and valves are okay, (Good suction at the carb?) then I would suspect some dirt, still in the carb.  I would reclean it and probe each and every hole with a fine wire.
