QuestionMy mother has a large,Craftsman riding mower with the rear bagger. It starts just fine and runs great, but if she stops to empty the bags,it shuts off of course because she gets off of the seat, but then it won't start up again for at least five or six hours. We have checked the battery, spark plugs, etc. and thought that maybe something was getting too hot and causing a short somewhere until it cooled down. Please give me some suggestions.
AnswerHave you replaced the spark plugs?
The symptom you described is most commonly associated with defective plugs...we see this fairly often.
Replace the plugs, preferably with some NGK or ND brand of plug. You may have to order the plug from an auto parts store but these plugs are much better than Champion plugs.
Let me know what happens.
