Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower blade stuck, spark plug wire, mechanical skills
QuestionHi Michael......my son recently was mowing the lawn with my new craftsman lawnmower, he's a Michael too :)..and he went off the curb and struck the blade onto the curb. The lawnmower will now not turn the blade as when we pull the rope to start it just sticks. Can this be repaired easily as I have virtually no mechanical skills but do have nice tools :) or is this something i must take in for repair to unstick?...thank you
AnswerHi Zak,
Hopefully, the blade is only bent and hitting the deck. Have someone look under the deck while you try to pull the recoil. The spark plug wire should be disconnected for safety.
If the blade does not contact anything, then there may be major internal damage.
Let me know what you find.
Michael
