Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 5 hp snowthrower, spark plug wire, fresh oil

    I have a brand new Craftsman 5hp snowthrower and used it for the first time tonight.  I used fresh gas with stabilizer, fresh oil.  After about 15 minutes of use, the snowthrower started sputtering and backfiring.  I shut it off, let it sit for a while in the garage and tried starting it again.  It still just sputters.  I checked the spark plug wire, thinking it was wet, and it was not.  Please help! We are getting a blizzard tomorrow.

Hi Joe,

Sorry for my delay.  Snowed in here too!
I would try adjusting the carb, if there are adjustments.
Other than that, since it is new and under warranty, I would not put any further time or money in to it.
