Michael,
 I have a chipper/vac which the pullcord does not recoil fully. It has come to the point that I do not have enough pullcord to start the engine. Can I fix this pullcord or do I have to purchase a new starter recoil? the pullcord is intact but does not fully recoil.

Hi Tom,

Remove the recoil assembly and take a look.  Disassemble it if needed but be careful of the spring flying out.  I suspect the spring may be broken or you may see something else defective.  If you need new parts, they should be available.
