QuestionI have a 99 Murray riding lawn mower,2 weeks ago
I shut it off.Now when I go to start it Its
hard to start, and very noisy with no power
If I give it more gas it stalls, and hard to
start, when I get it started it backfires and
runs poorly. I changed the plug but it still
very hard to start. Its like a car running on
5 or 6 cylinders of the 8.
AnswerHey Chuck,
What you must do is check the oil level. If it has a low or no oil level it could have suffered minor seizing causing the engine to be hard to start. If there is low oil add more and send me another question. What if low oil is not present you should change the air filter and disassemble the carb. Clean it out and soak it in gasoline for about 2 hours. Then clean out all the small and big holes in the carb. Then ajjust the air/fuel mixture on the carb. It should run great.Hope this hepls.Good luck.
