Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chain saw oilers, chain oiler, oil tank
QuestionI foolishly used old engine oil for the chain lubircant on my Echo chain saw 290EVL and now the chain oiler is pluged up. How do I fix it?
AnswerHi Chuck,
Sorry, I don't know how to give you a step by step proceedure. I would drain the oil tank, remove the bar and blow air through the oil outlet, back into the tank. Then flush out the tank with kerosene or a light oil and refill. If that doesn't work then you will need to disassemble the saw and check the oiler flow path.
I have used old oil also but I recommend letting it settle first, then pour off and use the top.
Let me know how you make out.
Michael
