Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower repair, power path, mdl

Hi. I have an older model (approx 12 yrs)Homelite Jacobsen(mdl UT-30148) with a B/S 4hp motor. My problem is with the traction control. I have replaced a part in the 'gearbox' (it is a very simple arrangement), and it feels smooth when operated by hand, but it seems to lock up when under power. There is fresh fluid in the box. Any help would be appreciated. Tks.

Hi Graham,

Sorry I am not familiar with the drive set-up on your model. All I can suggest, is to trace the power path through the system and study it to see how it works, then look for a problem area.  Double check for worn or out-of-sequence parts.
