Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda mower smoke, white plume, honda mower
QuestionHave a Honda self-propelled mower (Model HR214SX) that I purchased in 1988. It is in excellent condition appearance-wise and starts on the first pull. Recently it has begun to smoke (heavy white plume) after it is put into gear (blade engaged and/or drive engaged). It stops this after a few moments, however. Is this possibly from oil put into sparkplug hole when "winterizing" or from oil overfill? Oil level checks to be OKAY.
Thanks for any advice.
AnswerCould be a little of both. Have you recently changed the oil? Changing the oil will sometimes help reduce oil burning.
I wouldn't worry too much about a little white smoke, especially for it's age.
Do you use the same brand of oil everytime.
Let me know.
