Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No start snowblower, mtd snowflite, condensor

I have a MTD snowflite with  a Tecumesh 5 hp 5/24 and i have gas to cyl but no spark, I cleaned the points and gaped to .020 but still no spark? what am I missing   ?///Mike

You might want to have the coil tested by a good shop.  Even though you cleaned the points, the condensor might be bad.  It is a good idea to replace both.  Also check that the coil to flywheel gap is 0.010" and that the shut-off leads aren't grounded somewhere.  You could also have a sheared flywheel key (uncommon for a snowblower but possible)  Hope this helps.
