Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Generator, armiture, watt generator

1998 Craftsman, 4200 watt generator--

Got motor running, can't get any juice.  I checked the brushes & armiture which are fine. Can you think of what I may be missing?  Any help or advice would be very appreciated.  I am stumped!  Thanks

Hi Jim,

The two things I can think of:  Check the breaker.  It might have failed.  I have heard that if a generator sits unused for a long time, the fields loose something and need to be "re-excited".  I don't know a remedy but will check into it and let you know if I find out something.
