Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): LAWN TRACTOR BLADE REMOVAL, tractor blade, rusty blades
Question HI. WHAT'S THE BEST METHOD TO RAISE UP A LAWN TRACTOR TO REMOVE BLADES FOR SHARPENING? JACK UP SIDES? FRONT? 42" DECK 'MURRAY' W/2 BLADES.
THANX!
AnswerThis is a little unorthodox, but I know what would work. Dig yourself a pit big enough to drive the tractor into sideways. When you drive the right two wheels into the pit it will practically turn itself over. Brush yourself off a little bit and then start changing those rusty blades. This brings up a good point. Have you had a tetanus shot lately? Lawk Jaw (slang for the real lock jaw and tetanus) can be a real mother unless you are trying to loose weight. After you get those blades fixed up real good hookup a tow rope to the tractor and the other end to the bumber of your car. Make sure to put this on a real secure section of the bumper otherwise you could rip the whole backend of your car off. If the tractor is being a little stingy try talking to it. Let it know that you mean business. They always come around.
