Snowmobile Repair: milky oil, injection oil, oil tank

Hello Arcticatman, I have a 97 fourmula 500.The machine runs great but, after a short ride, the injection oil in the tank and the line to the motor, becomes milky. Is coolant being mixed with the oil somewere?

  It could be a number of things causing this.  One could be a leaking oil tank cap, and water or snow is getting in the tank. I doubt that, though. Another is gas getting to the oil. What it sounds like is coolant. My recommendation is to take it to your dealers. It could be something leaking such as a seal or gasket in the rotary valve area. I would not recommend operating the sled in this condition. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticatman
