Steering Column Repair: Interlock shift solenoid on steering column

Where is the Interlock shift solenoid located on the steesteering column on a 1992 Oldsmobile 98 Regency?

Hello George:
There is no solenoid on a 1992 Olds.  Ther is a shift interlock cable if it is a floor shift, otherwise is it simply a mechanical mechanism that prevents the key from rotating forward or back.
