Question

Bottom Steering Wheel What is the name of the steering wheel column number 1 in the image? And what is it used for, how does it work? How do you remove the steering wheel of the hhr 2006

Hi Mario:

The part you are referring to is the power steering assist motor.  It is part of the entire column and has had a very high failure rate.  
To remove the steering wheel you must first remove the airbag, which in itself requires disabling the airbag system and then knowledge of the restraint system.  I can refer you to our company website for general information, but I wouldn't suggest you dive right into removing the airbag and steering wheel unless yo know what you are doing and what you are after.  BTW, what are you after?
