Steering Column Repair: steering column, ford steering column, init

when i went to put my 92 f150 automatic into gear i hear a pop like something broke like the end of my shifter it wont go into any gear. it has a little play init. if you have any idea of what the problem is and some specs it would be most helpful

Although the example is for a different vehicle than yours, the column is identical to yours (tilt and non tilt use the same housing)
