Questionhow do i remove the steering column from a 1997 ford taurus?
AnswerBryan:
We don't have step by step instructions, but it is fairly straightforward.
Disconnect the battery
Remove the following parts in order:
Airbag
Steering wheel
Lower dash panel(s)
Ignition lock cylinder
Steering column covers
Disconnect the following parts:
Shift cable at the bottom of the column
Shift indicator string and cable
Wiring to multifunction switch
Wiring to the clockspring
Steering shaft coupler (at the base of the column)
Unbolt the column (4 13mm nuts)
If my memory serves me, that should do it
Good luck
Doug
