QuestionDouglas, my blinker switch is broken. How difficult would it be to replace it on my F150 1992? Also, my cruise control no longer works. It is located on the steering wheel. I don't know a lot about intricate car repairs. Should I let the pros handle this? Thank you.

multiswitch
Hi Mark:
You have asked about repairing one of the simplest items on the steering column of this vehicle. You should have no problem doing this yourself.
Attached is a picture of the switch assembly. Here are the step by step instructions:
1) Remove the 3-5 screws holding the upper and lower covers together (phillips head screws)
2) Remove the covers
3) remove the 2 --20 torx screws holding the switch to the column
4) unplug the switch
5 install the new one!
How easy was that?
Let me know if you have any problems.
As far as the cruise control goes, that could be a number of things and the proper diagnosis is critical. Let the shop handle that one
Good luck
