QuestionQUESTION: How do you reset the pass key after replacing the ignition system? I have tried resetting the computer, and then turning on the ignition for ten minutes then shutting off and turning back on . i waited ten sec. and then tried to start. wont turn over. The truck was turning over and starting before i changed the ignition switch.I have tried a dozen times. Please help.

Did you change the ignition switch, or the lock cylinder?
Does the 'security light' flash during those 10 minutes?
If you can answer those 2 questions I can get you closer to starting the truck

QUESTION: Yes I changed the lock cyl. and yes the light flashes during the ten minutes but stops after ten minutes. Then I shut it off wait ten seconds and try to start. no dice

Lock cylinder for GM
You need to make sure the lock cylinder you installed has a small magnet on it. If it's missing, then you need to get the correct cylinder. If it's there, then you may need to program it using that system a total of 3 times...the fourth time you try to start it, it should fire up.
If not, then there is something unplugged, but it doesn't sound like it if the light flashes.
