Steering Column Repair: steering problem, plastic horn, spindal

Question
I have a 78 trans am. I took the steering wheel off and I cant get the metal looking spindal off. The little plastic horn piece is right behind it.

Hi Mike:
The part you are referring to is the lock plate.  You will need a lock plate spring compressor to remove that plate and access the horn cancel cam.
