Steering Column Repair: 1998 Chevy Blazer Steering, chevy blazer, wheel alignment

My 1998 Chevy blazer is the poorest handling vehicle I've ever had.  New tires.  3 Mechanics checked out steering linkages. All good.  Had a wheel alignment.  Still no good.  I heard about steering sensor.  How do I check this and if it is malfunctioning, how do I replace it?

I have never heard of such a part on this vehicle. Now at the bottom of some GM steering columns, there is a ring that goes around the steering shaft that has three wires coming out of it, this may be the piece they are speaking of. Good luck with it.
