Steering Column Repair: 02 eldo column, steering column, turn signal

Need a diagram for an '02 Eldorado steering column. Took mine apart to rewire and a black piece about 1 1/2" to 2" FELL out. It is somewhere between the tilt mechenism and turn signal, I'm guessing.Please help me!

Hello Robert,
What you found is the shoe for the dimmer rod. It slips into the upper bowl and works with the turn signal lever. If you look closely you will see the track that it runs in.
