how do I go about tightening a loose tilt joint in the steering column on my 1991 chevy s10 blazer?

there is a lot of side to side up down play.

also a diagram would be helpful.

Hello Todd,
It sounds as though you need to tighten the 4 bolts holding the tilt unit to the column. Here is a diagram that will help you tremendously.
