Subaru Repair: brand of antifrezze/coolant for a subaru, helm inc, 2003 subaru forester

Question
We own a 2003 Subaru Forester and a 2005 Subaru Impreza. Is it OK to use Prestone extenced life antifrezze/coolant instead of the recommended Subaru brand that is mentioned in the owners manual? Also do you know of any brand service or shop manual(s)for these cars? I was able to buy a Chilton's. It is OK but could be better. When we owned a 1992 Accord, I was able to purchase a complete shop service manual from Helm Inc.

You really want to use the O.E. Subaru Coolant and the coolant conditioner on a 2003 Forester.


There is no manual I would suggest over the Subaru Factory Service manual, you get what you pay for.
