Subaru Repair: Clutch Replacement, Subaru clutch

Hi,
I have a 1998 Forester MT.  There is a pinging or ringing noise until I push
the clutch in.  I assume this is a bad throw out bearing.  I am going to buy an
OEM clutch kit and give it to my mechanic to replace the clutch.  Should I buy
a new flywheel as well?  Is there anything else I should have him do at this
time?

There is a kit from Subaru that includes a flywheel.  It was meant for the 2000 and newer but we put it on just about everything these days.

32098 AA020 is the part number for the kit, you will also want to get a throw out bearing, clips, and exhaust flange gaskets.
