Question
My dash lights  and clock don't come on when i turn on the headlights- it seemed to coincide with wiping down the interior with a damp cloth!
Also, the engine clicks quite loudly for a few minutes when i turn it off...?

Most likely it has some burnt out bulbs or the interior lights have been turned off or down with the turning the switch.  Have you checked that, do you have an owners manual that shows how to turn on, off and adjust the lights?  

Cant help you on the noise with out hearing it myself.  Sorry
