Subaru Repair: subaru loyale 4x4, vacuum actuators, subaru loyale

i have a 93 subaru loyale  5speed manual 4x4
my problem is the 4x4 engaged without me poping it in. i can not disengage it with the botton. how can i disengage cheaply.

Hey Pete,
One of the control solenoids for the vacuum actuators is stuck.They are on the the drivers side just past the strut tower.You can try lightly tapping on the silenoid.Other than that you will have to locate and try to disengage the linkage manually.Hope that helps
