Towing Issues: RAM 1500 Gooseneck capacity, gooseneck horse trailer, dodge ram

I have a 2005 quad cab 4x4 Dodge RAM. The GVWR is 6650#. I believe the curb weight is appox 5300#. I would like to tow a Gooseneck Horse Trailer that has a total weight of approx. 12000#. Am I going to be overloaded? If so what max weight trailer could I tow with this truck?

well from what I can find out, you are going to be overloaded with the trailer..  I found references that show gross trailer weight of 6200 pounds listed..

I think that to pull that heavy of a trailer you will need a 1 ton truck not a 1/2 ton truck...  Braking power, steerable control and of course over all power will be lacking with that much load...
