Towing Issues: Why 3500 lbs for the Wrangler and 5000 lbs for the liberty, jeep wrangler, jeep dealer

Hello, I presently regarding to buy the Jeep Wrangler unlimited and when I compare it with the Jeep Liberty I don't understand why it is rated at 3500 lbs in tow capacity.

I compare Engine, HP, Torque, Wheelbase and still not understand.

tow ratings take into account the entire vehicle.

You can have the same engine, but different transmissions and axles.  Plus I think these two vehicles have different body/frame setups, and that determines a LOT of the vehicle capability, along with spring setups and more.

the strength of the vehicle counts more for towing capacity than the horsepower.

a Jeep dealer should have a towing brochure that should explain it better, go ask for one.
