Towing Issues: Towing a camper w/ electric brakes, chevy dealer, electric brakes

Question
How do I know if my 2003 silverado has a towing package or not. I was told that if it has a factory installed tow package that I should be able to install an elec. brake switch myself.

If your truck has a factory installed hitch, that is the big indicator.  You can also check the list of options that should be on a lable in the glove box or maybe on the drivers door frame (sometimes on the passenger door frame.  It is a lable with a lot of short code numbers.  Any Chevy dealer can help you decode the lable.

A chevy dealer should be able to find the under dash harness/plug that you need.  We have a 2003 Silverado and I had the dealer install the electric brake, but I do remember seeing the wires under there.
