Towing Issues: dolly towing, trailer hitch ball, wheel drive car

The dolly I am looking at has a pivot arrangement.  When I tow a front wheel drive car, do I leave car in park, steering column locked or put in accessory position to unlock.   Thanks

well its generally practiced where the vehicle is in park and the steering is locked.. The tow dollies do not pivot that much, it turns on the trailer hitch ball on the back of the tow vehicle, and the dolly and the vehicle follow its track.  
Be careful if you have to back up, as you can cause it to turn way to sharp and cause damage to all 3 vehicles ...
