Towing Issues: dolly towing a wrangler, surge brakes, electric brakes

Can I dolly tow my 2001 wrangler w/auto trans? I have read conflicting posts on this web site. If so, what must be done to do this correctly? I like the dolly set up because I don't want to always pull the same vehicle. Also, are dolly brakes as good as brake buddies?

Yes you can.  Transfer case in neutral, transmission in park.  

In my opinion a brick tied to a rope is nearly as effective as a brake buddy.  But that's my opinion.  Yes the dolly brakes are better than a brake buddy, if the dolly has electric brakes.  If it has surge brakes then I would say they are about even with the effectiveness of a brake buddy.
